Show Notes

My 11th episode is a heartfelt conversation with a fellow podcaster Chase Marks. He is the voice behind Bystanders Podcast, a mental health podcast telling stories from the perspective of partners, carers and professionals and also one of the voices behind We Don’t Do Deep Podcast, where mental health advocates take a break from the deep conversations, have a laugh and talk about all sorts of things, as they say, on the shallow end.

As Chase works in the performing arts industry, we start by catching up on how it feels to be back at work and discuss how Inclusion & Diversity is slowly creating a ripple effect within this industry. We follow with an in-depth conversation about what it really means to be the person living next to someone with mental health challenges also looking at the nuances often less mentioned. Trigger warning: we speak about living with suicidal thoughts, suicide, how it feels for those considering it and those being left behind, and we also try to understand if there is a way how bystanders could help before it is too late. Finally, we look at the challenges and importance of self-love and how that can create a positive change.
